Dear friends,

There’s something special about walking into the garden and picking fresh herbs for dinner, sun-warmed tomatoes off the vine, or edible flowers for a summer salad. Here on Vancouver Island, our mild coastal climate makes it possible to grow beautiful and productive edible gardens almost year-round.


Edible gardens can be both functional and stunning — blending vegetables, herbs, berries, and flowers into the landscape in a natural and inviting way. We help clients create spaces that are not only productive, but also beautiful to live in and easy to maintain.

From custom cedar raised beds and cold frames to container gardens and seasonal planting, we can help with every step of the process. We select plants that thrive in our coastal climate and use organic fertilizers and soil-building practices to support healthy, abundant growth throughout the season.

We also love incorporating edible flowers such as nasturtiums, calendula, and violas to bring colour to the garden while attracting pollinators and adding beauty to the table.

Moonflower Gardens
 
The farm, Moonflower online plant nursery, is also home to a small home-based nursery and farm stand, offering a curated and ever-changing selection of plants throughout the season. Most are medicinal herbs, food plants, and native species, carefully chosen for both beauty and function. We update the selection regularly, so feel free to stop by and see what’s growing.
